The house

One room, four benches, since 1948.

Loose components laid out on the black marble bench before assembly The Calibre 312 movement seated in its case, bridges and wheels exposed The finished Chronographe 312 resting on the bench

01 — The room

We never opened a second workshop.

Every Calibre 312 is assembled, adjusted and signed at one of four benches on the first floor of a building in Plainpalais. The same four watchmakers have done it since the calibre was drawn. When one of them retires, the person who replaces them spends two years at the next bench first.

02 — The movement

Eleven revisions, and every one removed something.

The movement was drawn in 1998 and has been revised eleven times. Nothing has ever been added. Each revision took out a part or replaced two with one, which is how a chronograph with this many functions still runs seventy-two hours on a single barrel.

03 — The edition

Three hundred and twelve, and then the tooling is retired.

Three hundred and twelve pieces across twelve references. We publish the register, so an owner can see exactly which of the 312 they hold and who assembled it. When the last one ships the tools come off the line and the reference closes.

Craftsmanship

Eight parts you can name.

A watch is not a mystery. It is a short list of components, each doing exactly one job. Here is the list, and what each one is for.

01

Case

44 mm, milled from a solid billet in eleven operations. Titanium, rose gold or king gold.

02

Dial

Open worked rather than printed, so the bridges below become the pattern you read the time against.

03

Hands

Cut, chamfered and polished by hand. Nine minutes of finishing each, on a part that weighs less than a grain of rice.

04

Movement

Calibre 312. Hand wound, 4 Hz, seventy-two hours, 312 parts and 37 jewels.

05

Crystal

Sapphire front and back, anti reflective on both faces, so there is no blue cast and nothing to hide behind.

06

Crown

The only part you touch every day. Knurled to grip with dry hands and sealed to a hundred metres.

07

Strap

Alligator over vulcanised rubber. It takes sweat and salt water, and it is cut for your wrist, not a size chart.

08

Finishing

Every bridge edge chamfered and black polished. Thirty one hours on surfaces most owners will never see.

Owners

What owners say.

4.8 from 118 verified owners
I asked three questions before I bought and got three straight answers, including one that talked me out of the more expensive case. That is when I ordered.
Dr. Halvard Reinert Owner, No. 041 — Umber — Verified purchase
Five months is a long wait and they never once pretended otherwise. Photographs from the bench at three stages, then a phone call the day it was cased.
Mariam Oyelaran Owner, No. 187 — Lagoon — Verified purchase
Four years on it has been serviced once. It came back looking like the day it arrived and the invoice matched the figure printed on the certificate in 2022.
